Complex Document ManagerThe Complex Document Manager enables the reuse and sharing of 'document fragments' (any part of a document), regardless of where the documents or fragments are stored.
Create an inventory of corporately approved fragments that your authors can reuse over and over again. In fact, your authors can build entire documents from existing and defined document fragments. These fragments can be automatically identified and inserted according to business rules. Alternatively, it's as simple as browsing through the inventory, which appears as a Windows Explorer folder, and selecting the appropriate fragment to insert.
Authors may also want to reuse a document section (fragment) that they or an associate has previously written. In this case, when using i4i's XML authoring tool, the author selects the document containing the fragment they want to insert. The desired fragment is automatically inserted into the correct location.
Fragments can be linked actively, meaning that any inserted fragments are updated automatically when the original content changes. However, links can be made to specific versions as well, thereby freezing the fragment in time and preventing it from being automatically updated. Fragments can be inserted from any accessible repository, and the read-write permissions are carried forward. Even when a source fragment is not available due to network failure, documents are always returned ensuring that users always have access to documents.
The Complex Document Manager allows authors to share and reuse fragments for document collaboration, and can help them comply with corporate standards. The result is higher accuracy and greater consistency; in short, better documents.
